Good day! Home sales are up this year but we knew that. What is important is consumer confidence in Champaign County is up. The big U is hiring again and interest rates are low, low, low. While the scales are still tilted ever so slightly in the buyers direction, we are getting closer to equalibrium. We have had several multiple offer situations in the last few months and I believe it is a sign of what is coming. New construction has been very hot and while there are pockets of homes still having difficulties, the worst is over. That's right, I said it, the worst is over. Mark it down, put it the books, the worst of our housing woes is over. I said it and I am not afraid to say it again. It is over. So like 150 of my clients have done this year, go buy a house, go sell a house because you will never, ever be able to get more for you money than you can right now. Period. Housing Market Shows Great Improvement
Our Champaign County houisng market has finally made a significant move. Almost all areas of the county has shown improvment. Trends are moving in the direction of it is time to make a move? Interest rates are very low and with the past few years of decling prices, this is the best time in our history to buy a home.
Real estate processes are lengthy and trends cannot always be discerned from the results of a quarter or two, but builders already hail the change. "The desire and the need have gotten home hunters buying again," says Amos Dabush, marketing manager at Y. H. Dimri Building and Development. "This is partly due to promotions and enticements luring fence-sitters back. Price decreases remain mainly in the eyes of the media: In actuality the decreases have been minor."
